Wilshire Introduces Managed Portfolios for RIAs and Broker/Dealers

The global financial services firm Wilshire Associates rolled out two offerings, one with exposure to liquid alternatives and a lower-cost product for smaller client accounts.

Wilshire Global Alternatives Portfolio is a stand-alone liquid alternatives portfolio investing in five to seven different alternatives asset classes through actively managed mutual funds. This portfolio aims to target a specific level of risk and can be incorporated by advisers into established strategic asset-allocation portfolios to help improve the risk/return tradeoff.

Wilshire Global Diversified Alternatives Portfolios step up alternative investing by creating six risk-based strategic models that combine long-only asset classes (stocks and bonds) with alternatives.  According to Jason Schwarz, Wilshire’s managing director, the two portfolios allow advisers to invest client assets into alternatives while maintaining the client’s established asset-allocation strategy.

Wilshire Allocation Builder Portfolios are five risk-based strategic asset-allocation models that use multiple mutual fund portfolios. They are available for as little as $10,000 and have no strategist fee.  Smaller accounts can access the same institutional expertise as larger pension plans and endowments.
