Smart Appoints Group Sustainability Director

Smart has appointed Rowena Humphreys as its group sustainability director, a new role for the company. The appointment comes as Smart looks to build on its sustainability credentials and achieve its commitment to becoming a net-zero business.

Humphreys, based in the United Kingdom, will expand on Smart’s engagement in sustainable business practices across its global set of offices. This encompasses the U.S. headquarters in Nashville and the newly acquired office of Stadion Money Management in Athens, Georgia.

SageView Adds Government and Public Sector Retirement Plan Expert

SageView Advisory Group announced the addition of Javier Obando as a retirement plan consultant in its Newport Beach, California, office.

A government and public sector retirement plan expert with 25 years of experience, Obando is responsible in his new role for providing retirement and fiduciary services, plan-level consulting, investment research, education and client relationship management. He will also partner closely with the wealth management business in supporting plan participants interested in elevating their level of financial wellness into comprehensive wealth management services.

Obando was previously vice president in sales for Prudential Financial, focusing on tax-exempt and government markets. He was also a vice president in government market sales for the West Coast region of Lincoln Financial Group. Prior roles include associate regional sales director at Great-West Retirement Services and client relationship director at Empower Retirement.

Obando is a member of the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators Inc. and the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers. He holds a bachelor’s degree from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona. He is FINRA series 6 and 63 registered and holds life and health insurance licenses in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.

Advisor Group Adds Business Strategist and Compliance Expert

Advisor Group, a network of independent wealth management firms, has announced the appointments of Dimple Shah as executive vice president of corporate strategy and Iryna Northrip as chief compliance officer, investment advisory.

Shah joined Advisor Group on April 25 and reports to President and CEO Jamie Price. In this role, she is responsible for Advisor Group’s growth strategy and will serve on the executive committee.

Northrip joined on May 9 and reports to chief risk officer Steve Wastek. She will oversee compliance for investment advisory portfolios across the network and will contribute to the broader evolution of risk and compliance for the firm.

Shah has more than 20 years of experience in developing corporate and business strategies for Fortune 500 companies. Most recently, she was a managing principal at Cielo Advisor, an independent strategy consultancy, where she played a significant role in developing Advisor Group’s current strategic plan. Previously, Shah served as the head of corporate strategy for LPL Financial. She has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

Northrip was previously vice president, regulatory counsel and chief compliance officer for Mariner Wealth Advisors in Overland Park, Kansas. She was also an associate at Bryan Cave LLP and a senior consultant at Deutsche Bank. Northrip has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the International Christian University in Kyiv, Ukraine. She also holds a master’s degree in finance from Albert-Ludwig’s University in Freiburg, Germany. She earned her law degree from the School of Law at the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
