Putnam Investments Names Head of Global Institutional Business

Putnam Investments announced the appointment of Jeffrey L. Gould as head of Putnam global institutional management to lead the firm's response to growing marketplace interest.

Gould will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s institutional asset management business, which serves investors and clients in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. He previously served as managing director and head of U.S. institutional marketing for Lazard Asset Management.

Based in Boston, Gould will report directly to Putnam Investments President and CEO Robert L. Reynolds and will join the firm’s operating committee. Reynolds explains that Putnam “has been actively working with the institutional marketplace for several decades in serving the vast and evolving needs of corporate and public clients, as they seek strong, sustained investment performance, modern strategies to best protect and advance portfolios, ongoing insight on the markets, and superior service.”

Reynolds said that Gould will be joining the company when there’s been increased interest in their various institutional investment strategies, including multi-asset absolute return, unconstrained fixed-income and domestic and international equities.

Putnam and affiliates manage approximately $75 billion in institutional assets as of June 30, 2014.
