CapTrust Advisors Acquires Schott Group Investment Consulting
The company will continue to be known as CapTrust Advisors, LLC. The union of the two companies more than doubles CapTrust client assets to $10 billion, the company said.
Stephen H. Schott, founder of Schott Group, has become an equity partner of CapTrust. The Schott Group firm, which specializes in advising Catholic organizations on investments, was founded and led by Schott, who once served as chief operating officer of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team and is a member of the family that once owned the team. The Schott Group had offices in Miami; Richmond, Virginia; and Harbor Springs, Michigan.
CapTrust Advisors, founded by partners Eric W. Bailey and Roger E. Robson, is a privately held, independent investment consulting firm headquartered in Tampa, Florida, with offices in Naples and Miami; Richmond, Virginia; and Harbor Springs, Michigan.
“We knew Steve Schott to be a major player in the institutional market from Miami to New York,” said Eric W. Bailey, a founding partner of CapTrust, in a statement. “He is a perfect fit with CapTrust, and he adds depth and experience to our team.”
