  • Wealthy business owners enjoy their work so much that 43% want to work until age 70 or later—nearly twice as many as among affluent Americans who do not own a business, according to a survey by PNC Wealth Management. However, PNC’s study of nearly 600 affluent business owners found more tend to be younger, male, and wealthier compared to the overall affluent respondents.
  • New research from Stanford scientists shows that the part of the brain associated with reward and addiction was more activated in males than in females when both genders played a game whose object was to acquire more territory. In other words, according to HealthDay News, the game was more rewarding for males, who therefore were more motivated to succeed. According to the study authors, most computer games that males like to play involve territory and aggression, explaining why men seem more likely to get hooked.

  • Nearly a third (31%) of business travelers lug more than one cell phone, laptop, or other electronic device (not as in more than one of the foregoing—but as in more than one of each of the foregoing), according to a survey of 1,402 people by In-Stat. Cell phones are the most duplicated electronic; 15% of business travelers carry two or more. However, a surprising number of frequent travelers (those on the road at least 20% of the time) tote two laptops.
