  • Back to school: According to Capital One Financial Corporation’s eighth annual back-to-school shopping survey, only 14% of teens have taken a personal finance class in school, and 69% of teens say that what they know about managing money, they learned from their parents. Half of teens (50%) expressed an interest in learning more about managing money, and 76% say they want to learn about the basics of finance to help them make better financial decisions down the road.
  • Family or housework?: Men and women both have the same two main focuses in retirement: “taking care of things around the house and yard’ and “spending time with grandkids or other family members,” according to a survey of retirees by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. For men, the house and yard (28%) slightly beat spending time with family (26%). Women were the opposite, placing more importance on spending time with family (36%) over housework (25%).
  • The best hot dogs!: Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium tied as home of the best stadium hot dog, according to a survey conducted for the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (NHDSC). Boston’s legendary Fenway Park came in second, while Detroit’s Comerica Park took third, and Dodger’s Stadium in Los Angeles ranked fourth.
