DOL to Host PPACA Compliance Webcast

The Department of Labor (DOL) will host a two-part webcast this month to discuss the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) with employers.
Reported by PLANADVISER staff

Employers who must comply with the PPACA—as well as third-party administrators (TPAs) or insurers with questions about the law and related guidance—will be able to hear from the experts and ask questions.

Part one of the webcast will take place on September 17, 2013, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. EDT. Speakers from the DOL will provide information on the final wellness program rules. The Department of the Treasury will discuss the employer shared responsibility provisions.

Part two will take place the next day, September 18, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. EDT. DOL speakers will provide information on the Notice to Employees of Coverage Options under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Section 18B, as well as the full implementation of key market reforms such as the extension of dependent coverage to age 26, lifetime and annual limits, and prohibitions on pre-existing conditions. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will discuss the new Health Insurance Marketplace and Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP).

Those who wish to participate in the webcast can register here.
