Segal Rogerscasey Canada Adds Executives
Ruo Tan has been named president after joining the firm in 2010 as senior vice president. Since then, he has focused on expanding investment research, relationship management and client services. Before joining the firm, Tan had many years of senior-level experience in investment management with severe large financial institutions in Canada. He holds a Ph.D. in operations research from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from McMaster’s University’s School of Business. He holds the CFA designation and is a registered adviser-portfolio manager across Canada. He was a registered Commodity Trading Manager with the Ontario Security Commission (OSC) and was also registered under the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Kathleen Pabla, with more than 20 years of experience in the Canadian investment business, joined as vice president and director of research. Most recently, she was director of investment research and analysis in Investment Management Services for Manulife Financial in Toronto, where she was responsible for providing research and overseeing investments for pension platform (defined contribution plans) services. Previously, Pabla was director of investment management services at CIBC Asset Management Inc. She is a CFA and was previously registered as a portfolio manager across Canada.
Nino Boezio was named vice president, portfolio strategist and consultant, and will focus on portfolio management, investment consulting and new business development. He has more than 20 years of experience in investment strategy and research, portfolio advisory and governance, and pension and investment consulting. Most recently he worked in the managed products area for TD Bank Group where he provided his expertise in asset allocation and investment/insurance product review/oversight, in addition to business development. Boezio, who previously held positions at CIBC Asset Management, KPMG, Mercer and Deloitte & Touche, is a CFA, a fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He was also registered under FINRA and as a portfolio manager with the OSC.
Robert Mitchell and Bill Hutchison retired from the firm during the summer.
