Signorille Appointed to ERISA Advisory Council
Signorille will represent the general public and will serve the unexpired portion of the term of Portia Wu, who recently resigned from the council to accept a senior position within the Obama administration.
Signorille is a senior attorney with AARP Foundation Litigation and comes to the council with more than 30 years of experience involving ERISA. She has prepared numerous amicus curiae briefs related to employee benefits issues on behalf of AARP and its members in cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and federal and state courts. She provides substantive and technical guidance to individuals, employers and attorneys on complex issues arising under ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code.
Signorille recently finished a term as Chair of the American Bar Association’s Joint Committee on Employee Benefits, and previously served as Treasurer and Vice President of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. She is currently a Senior Editor of Employee Benefits Law and was chosen as one of the top benefits lawyers in the country by The National Law Journal. Signorille received a law degree from Catholic University Law School and a Master of Labor Law from Georgetown University Law Center.
