National Save for Retirement Week Set for October
In order to encourage Americans to make saving for retirement an everyday event, the government is set to dedicate a whole week to it.
Reported by Rebecca Moore
National Save for Retirement Week in 2008 will likely be October 19 to 25, said the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators (NAGDCA).
The U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution approving the dates, and the association expects a similar resolution to be approved by the U.S. Senate.
NAGDCA also said it has been working with the House Ways and Means Committee on an effort to create legislation authorizing a permanent Savings for Retirement month.
