Mutual of Omaha Adds 401(k) Wholesalers in the Southeast

Mutual of Omaha has announced the appointment of two new retirement plan wholesalers, Joe Gibson and Daniel Roebuck, and the promotion of Joe Reese and Paul Tavella to regional sales directors.

The two wholesalers will be focused in Northeast Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Southern Virginia. 

According to a hiring announcement, Gibson most recently served as vice president and 401(k) regional marketing director for AXA Financial Services, LLC. Prior to that, he held several leadership and retirement plan specialist positions for AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company, First Union Brokerage Services, Inc., Alliance Capital Management, Merrill Lynch,  and CPI Qualified Plan Consultants, Inc. He attended Clemson University and earned his bachelor’s degree from Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, North Carolina.

With more than 20 years of financial services experience, Roebuck most recently was a partner at AlphaBridge Financial, a wholesale distribution firm focused on alternative investments. Prior to that, Roebuck held sales and leadership positions at companies such as Knight Portfolio Access, KBS Capital Markets Group,  and AXA Equitable Life Insurance.  He earned his bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University. 

Prior to his promotion to regional sales director, Reese oversaw Mutual of Omaha’s sales efforts for the bank channel. Reese has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining the company, he was an institutional consultant for Unified Trust Company, N.A. He has also held positions with Retirement Marketing Specialists, Inc., Manulife Financial, Paul Revere Insurance Company and Fortis Benefits Insurance Company.  Reese earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University. 

Prior to serving as regional sales director, Tavella was a manager of Compliance and Sales Support where he worked directly with Mutual of Omaha’s retirement plan wholesalers. Tavella has more than 15 years experience in the retirement plan and annuity business. Prior to joining Mutual of Omaha, Tavella held management positions with Nationwide Insurance and RMS.  Tavella earned his bachelor’s degree from Franklin University.
