MSSB Appoints Van Aeken to Run International Products and Services

Chris Van Aeken will head International Wealth Management Products and Services at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, the company announced.

In this role, he will be responsible for defining and executing the wealth management products and services strategy in markets outside the U.S., including private banking, capital markets, managed investments, and wealth planning.

Michael Armstrong, head of Capital Markets and International Wealth Management for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, said the appointment is part of an expansion of products and services in the international market. “International wealth management represents an important growth opportunity where we are committing significant resources,” he said in a news release.

A 12-year veteran of Morgan Stanley, Van Aeken most recently served as COO in Asia for Private Wealth Management. He will relocate from Hong Kong to London in his new position.
