J.P. Morgan Has New Head of Defined Contribution

Don MacQuattie joins the firm from Capital Group.

J.P. Morgan Asset Management has hired Don MacQuattie to join its U.S. Funds team as head of defined contribution (DC) for global strategic relationships (GSR). In this role, MacQuattie will lead GSR’s sales across all of the firm’s distribution channels, including wealth management firms, independent broker/dealers, registered investment advisers, insurance/sub-advisory firms, recordkeepers, and banks and trust companies.

A 20-year veteran of the DC industry, MacQuattie was previously with Capital Group, where he headed relationship management initiatives. Before that, he was responsible for 403(b) and 457 plans at Hartford Financial Services. He also spent 12 years with Merrill Lynch, where he managed retirement plan sales in New York City.

“DC already represents a significant portion of our U.S. Funds business and will play an even more important role going forward,” says Robert Stark, head of GSR, U.S. Funds, to whom MacQuattie now reports. “Don’s industry experience and deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges that our DC clients face will help us sharpen our focus, accelerate momentum, and continue to drive a consistent client experience. With his leadership, we look forward to further strengthening our presence in the DC space.”
