Hartford Offers Guide for Survivors
The Hartford’s “Practical Financial Guide After The Loss of a Loved One” addresses topics such as life insurance policies, Social Security, and real estate, and offers a checklist of tasks, according to a press release.
The insurer said its research found 61% of individuals have life insurance coverage through their employer, and workers listed insurers (39%), human resources (35%), and family (32%) as the top sources of information about life insurance.
When asked whether their employer does a good job educating them about life insurance benefits, only 29% of survey respondents “agreed somewhat.” Only 40% of workers “agreed somewhat” that they had all the information they needed prior to enrolling for their life insurance coverage, according to The Hartford.
