DoL to Host Spanish-Language Advice Webcast

The U.S. Department of Labor’s (DoL) Employee Benefits Security Administration will host a free Spanish-language retirement savings Webcast on June 22.

The first ever Spanish-language “Guide to Retirement Saving” Webcast will offer free advice on money management and saving for retirement. The event will be co-sponsored by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. in coordination with the National Council of La Raza.

The Webcast will help participants get started with saving for retirement by explaining how to set goals and make saving a personal priority.  It is designed to provide money management advice for younger workers who are interested in starting to save now as well as those individuals who are close to retirement.

Sentinel Partners with Crow Point as Subadviser

Sentinel Investments announced that Crow Point Partners, LLC, will subadvise the firm’s Sentinel Mid Cap Value Fund (SYVAX, SYCVX, and SYVIX).

Sentinel will enter into an interim subadvisory agreement with Crow Point effective August 17, 2011, for a period lasting up to 150 days, the company announced. Crow Point’s appointment as subadviser to the fund requires shareholder approval following a vote at a special shareholder meeting tentatively scheduled for late summer.

Effective with shareholder approval of Crow Point, the fund’s Board of Directors approved an updated investment strategy that includes a focus on selecting income-generating stocks when consistent with the fund’s investment objective. The fund will continue to seek its investment objective of long-term capital appreciation.
