CUNA Mutual Group Hires Strategic Accounts Head

Chris Phillips was hired as director of strategic accounts in the retirement plan services division of CUNA Mutual Group.

Phillips will lead all key account responsibilities with defined contribution investment only (DCIO) fund family partnerships and broker/dealer relationships nationwide for CUNA Mutual Group and its affiliate, CPI Qualified Plan Consultants Inc. He will report to Micah DiSalvo, director, institutional sales, for CUNA Mutual Group retirement plan services.

Phillips joins CUNA Mutual Group from ING, where he was vice president of national business development for the past seven years, managing broker/dealer and DCIO relationships. Before joining ING, he served as a retirement plan wholesaler and financial adviser.

Phillips holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 designations along with life and health insurance licenses. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville State (Alabama) University.
