Chong Joins CUNA Mutual Group
Chong will be responsible for leading the development of CUNA Mutual Group’s Retirement Plan Services business in both the credit union and small-business markets. He will oversee the company’s teams in Madison, Wisconsin, and at CPI Qualified Plan Consultants in Great Bend, Kansas. He succeeds Kevin Thompson, who has returned to CUNA Mutual Group’s legal division as vice president, associate general counsel.
Before joining CUNA, Chong served as executive director, head of institutional consulting and 401(k) at UBS, where he was directly responsible for UBS Wealth Management’s $100-plus billion institutional consulting and corporate retirement business. In addition, Chong served as executive vice president for business development at Prudential Retirement and president of Corporate Market Groups for CitiStreet. He also spent time as an entrepreneur and owned businesses in Florida.

Chong said he is excited to lead the company’s Retirement Services business. “I’m eager to extend CUNA Mutual Group’s unique heritage and focus of serving customers in the retirement marketplace,” he said. “Outcome-based programs and services for the rank and file are in the DNA of the company, and I look forward to significantly expanding the number of plans and participants we serve.”
