CFP Board Unveils Online Career Center

A new career planning website from the CFP Board is designed to support both employers and job seekers in the financial advisory industry.

The Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Board of Standards’ Career Center will serve those interested in a career as a financial planner, the CFP certification, and job and internship opportunities.

“CFP Board is in a unique position to make meaningful connections between firms and those who are seeking financial planning positions in the financial services industry,” says CFP Board CEO Kevin R. Keller. “The new Career Center will bridge the gap between those seeking talent and those looking to either enter the profession or further their career.”

CFP Board hopes its new website will be the go-to resource for financial planners throughout their careers, Keller says. The Career Center will contain job and internship listings along with advice on how financial planners can successfully manage their careers. Fidelity Institutional is the founding sponsor of the website.

In the coming years, the CFP Board foresees a 27% growth in demand for financial planning professionals at a time when there are more advisers over the age of 70 than there are under 30.

“The talent crisis is an industry burden not to be solved by individual firms,” says Jylanne Dunne, senior vice president of practice management at Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services. “As an industry, we all should get behind fresh resources and approaches like this Career Center to make real progress that will benefit the profession for the long term.”

The Career Center is located at: www.CFP.net/career-center.
