Christian Stanley
PLANADVISER: Where do you hope to take your career in the retirement industry in coming years?
Stanley: I greatly enjoy the analytical and regulatory aspects of the business. Over the past few years, I have been deeply involved with the National Association of Plan Advisors’ political action committee and government affairs committee. Recently, I was honored to join the legislative relations committee, where we actively engage with lawmakers to reform existing legislation and propose new solutions to expand retirement plan coverage for more American workers. My goal is to continue growing in this area, honing my knowledge and understanding to make saving for retirement easier for our clients’ employees and their families. By working on these important initiatives, I hope to contribute to meaningful changes that benefit everyone who relies on retirement plans.
PLANADVISER: What have you done that you are most proud of?
Stanley: I am incredibly proud of becoming a partner in Greenspring Advisors. The firm took a chance on me, hiring me from outside the industry in May 2015. Six years, more than 30 clients and two designations later, I met the criteria to join the partnership ranks. While it seems straightforward when summarized, it was one of the hardest challenges I’ve ever faced. From the beginning, I set the goal of becoming a partner and never lost sight of that objective, even during difficult times when it felt unattainable. I kept moving forward, determined to succeed. Today, I am beyond proud to be an owner of this remarkable firm. Every day, I have to pinch myself to believe that I am part of the decisionmaking process that propels our firm forward. Being a partner here is both an honor and a responsibility that I cherish deeply.
PLANADVISER: What are you most passionate about outside of the office?
Stanley: I have a variety of hobbies and passions, so it’s hard to pick just one. Outside of work, I am actively involved in my church, where I sit on the men’s ministry steering committee and serve as a table leader during our group sessions. Fitness and nutrition are also important to me, so if I’m not at the office, you’ll likely find me doing something active. Additionally, I have a deep love for cars—working on them, cleaning them, researching them and, of course, driving them. If it goes “Vroom,” I’m in! Balancing these interests with my professional life keeps me energized and fulfilled, and I enjoy sharing these passions with others.
