Advantus Hires SVP of Institutional Accounts

Gerend leads Advantus’ Institutional and Insurance Advisory client service and sales initiatives for institutional clients nationwide. She is based in St. Paul, Minnesota, and reports to Chris Sebald, executive vice president and chief investment officer.  

Prior to joining Advantus, Gerend served as marketing director at Blue Rock Advisors in Wayzata, Minnesota. She was also senior vice president and director of client service and marketing at Peregrine Capital Management in Minneapolis. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and earned an MBA from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota, where she also has served as an adjunct professor of finance. .”
