Schwab Reveals Branded App for RIAs

Investment services firm Charles Schwab has rolled out Schwab OpenView Mobile, a customizable application that registered investment advisers (RIAs) can use to create a mobile presence for their firms.

After a successful pilot program, Schwab says the app is ready to enable advisers to establish and maintain a 24/7 connection with their clients. The firm says technology professionals from the Schwab Performance Technologies (SPT) division will work with participating advisers to create unique, firm-branded apps, which will be submitted to the Google Play and iTunes App stores on a firm-by-firm basis.

“Looking to the future, it is clear that the RIA office must evolve to keep up with emerging client needs and competitive forces,” says Neesha Hathi, senior vice president for adviser technology solutions at Schwab Advisor Services. “Mobile technology is a must-have for adviser firms looking to grow and build relationships, both with today’s clients and with the next generation.”

Schwab says SPT will work with advisers to customize their app to reflect their own brand, including adding a firm logo, contact details and special icons and colors. Once the app has been customized, the adviser will post it on Google Play and iTunes App stores, where their clients can find it by searching for the firm’s name. RIAs can customize the client experience by including adviser news, promotional content, contact information and a website link, as well as real-time data on Schwab accounts.
