LPL Names Independent Adviser Services Director

LPL Financial appointed long-time executive William Morrissey as managing director of independent adviser services.

The new role will keep Morrissey in San Diego, LPL says. He will report directly to LPL Financial President Robert Moore.

Morrissey spent the past 10 years at LPL, most recently as executive vice president of business development, where he was responsible for recruiting new advisers and their practices. During his tenure, the number of LPL’s independent advisers nearly doubled, growing from 6,350 to 11,400. He joined the company in 2004 as senior vice president of advisory consulting services.
