William Blair & Company Launch Two Funds

William Blair & Company launched the William Blair Emerging Markets Small Cap Growth Fund and the William Blair Large Cap Value Fund.  

The Small Cap Growth Fund will be managed by portfolio managers Todd McClone and Jeff Urbina. It will invest at least 80% of its assets in a diversified portfolio of equity securities issued by emerging market small-cap companies that have above-average growth, profitability, and quality characteristics.

Working together for more than six years, Urbina and McClone also manage the William Blair Emerging Markets Growth and Emerging Leaders Growth Funds and Emerging Markets Growth institutional separate accounts. Urbina is also the portfolio manager of the William Blair International Small Cap Growth Fund.
 

The Large Cap Value Fund will be managed by portfolio manager David Hone. The Fund seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing in a diversified portfolio of equity securities of large-cap companies.

Hone joined William Blair earlier this year. Prior to joining William Blair, he served as lead portfolio manager for Deutsche Asset Management’s U.S. Large Cap Value strategy from 2007 to 2010. From 2002 to 2006, he served as a portfolio manager on the U.S. Large Cap Value strategy. Prior to that, he was as an analyst for Deutsche Asset Management covering consumer cyclicals, consumer staples, and financials. He began his career at Chubb & Son as an analyst for seven years. Mr. Hone has the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts. He earned a BA in economics from Villanova University.
