Stock and Bond Funds Pull in $70B in March

Stock and bond funds experienced net inflows of $70 billion in March, according to the Financial Research Corporation (FRC).

The Corporate Bond objective led the net inflow category with $24.5 billion, followed by the Domestic Equity objective with $18.2 billion. The International/Global Equity category came in third with a net inflow of $11.5 billion.

By Morningstar category, Intermediate-term Bond ($10.9 billion), Short-term Bond ($6.1 billion), World Bond ($4.7 billion), and High Yield Bond ($4.3 billion) topped the list for inflows. Large Blend ($3.2 billion) rounded out the top five.

The PIMCO Total Return fund pulled in a net $4 billion in March to top the best selling funds chart. The SPDR S&P 500 ETF ($3.5 billion) and Templeton Global Bond fund ($2.2 billion) rounded out the top three.
